Sunday

Eggs and toast and orange juice for breakfast this morning after Holly went to work. Listening to the Sightings record, Through The Panama which is pretty great.

Friday night Matt came over and we did some drinking and listening to records. Saturday was a long day of band practices and hangover management. Had lunch at the Bulldog. After playing with Jon and Bryan we hung out and listened to records.

The fat cat jumped on the coffee table in front of me and proceeded to lick the pumpkin bar Bryan had given me. She is not usually so bold.

Changed the oil and had the car cleaned. It was caked in months of grit and dust and filth and the inside was horrible. Now it is like new.

Plan on record and book shopping later this morning. Brisket with the parents this evening is also on the agenda

Thursday-Friday

The recording session in Chicago has been postponed. The studio is having some technical problems. Joel called me and said that the problems have basically been fixed, but instead of running the risk of me driving down in what has turned out to be a fairly large late season snow storm (seriously its March, after being in Texas last week I am more ready then ever for this winter to be over) and running into more problems, we have decided to reschedule for the first week in April when I was already planning on being in Chicago.

Last night I saw Sightings at the Turf Club in St. Paul. They still remind me of an American Fushitsusha, though a Fushitsusha who occasionally sounds like humpback whales humping. Bought the new record, which I've already listened to a few times.

Holly and I had dinner at Broder's before I went to the show. I still haven't been able to shake this cold/cough.

I have today off for the Good Friday holiday. I haven never worked any company that closed for this holiday before. Took Holly's car to get the oil changed. Done some reading and some writing.

Tomorrow night is the Effigies show. Can't wait.

Sunday-Monday-Tuesday

Sunday-We got home from Austin Tx about 10:30 am Sunday after close to 24 hours in the van. Holly came to the space and picked me up and we went to breakfast. Afterward she went to work and I came home to decompress/sleep.

Had dinner that night with the folks. Came home and got some more sleep.

Monday-Woke up after a decent night's sleep with a chest cold. Legs still aching. Went to work and tried to get caught up on what I missed from the last half of the previous week.

Received two forty-fives in the mail,Wild Billy Childish/HOF split and Lydia Lunch w/ HOF. Both good. Went to bed around 9:30 to try and get back to a state of normalcy.

Been reading 40 Stories by Donald Barthelme for the past few days. I think I read it last when I was nineteen. Great stuff. I think I never give the short story enough credit, now I think it's my favorite form.

Listening to Clear Spot by Capt Beefheart & the Magic Band.

Driving to Chicago on Good Friday to do some recording.
