Back after a long, busy, rowdy weekend. Drove to Eau Claire Friday and played a show. Not a lot of folks there but it was fun. Many beers and tequilas did me in though, the next morning I woke up feeling like a shoe.
Drove to Chicago and unfortunately had to miss out on the Hot Doug's action because I was going to be recording. Went to the incredibly high-end studio with Joel and worked for about 4 hours on vocals. Got hear a 5.1 surround sound mix of one of the new songs. It felt like standing in the middle of the band in the practice space. Took a cab to the Bottle and got there about about 9.
Lots of great Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis friends at the show. It was an honor and a treat. Only regret was that I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked with everyone and it was hard to watch the other bands.
I think we played one of our best shows in awhile. The stage mix was one of the best we've ever had, it was like Matty from the Entry was running the board. Heard a lot of nice things after the show. I was covered in cake by the time it was over.
Partied afterward at Joel's then Holly and I went to stay the night at Lauren's.
Next day the scheduled practice was postponed. Holly and I wandering around Wicker Park for a bit, met up w/ her brother for about 10 minutes and went to the Edward Hopper showing at the Art Institute downtown.
Ran in to a little rain on the drive home, but still made good time. Was home by 11 pm.
Took yesterday off, spent the day watching tv and not much else.
